Brainspotting

I have been trained in Brainspotting, by Christine Ranck, the close colleague of the developer of the technique, Dr. David Grand. I am excited to bring this brain-body focused modality to my clients because of it's fast, profound healing effects on all types of traumas, depression, anxiety, performance issues and more.  It is a cutting edge method with compelling results over the 20 years since Dr. Grand discovered it.  The basic premise is that where we look affects how we feel.  In sessions, I help clients find eye positions that allow them to tap into parts of their brain (brainspots) where traumas are stored in a way that talk therapy alone cannot.  That access allows us to release those stored memories and feelings and achieve freedom from symptoms like depression, anxiety, hypervigilance, flashbacks, phobias, low self-esteem and more. There is often symptom relief within one or two sessions!  So excited to help you move past things that may have plagued you for years in a much shorter time than traditional talk therapy.

There are some special but simple "tools" used in Brainspotting.  I may use a pointer to help you find the best eye position to access a particular brainspot.  The technique is also enhanced by the use of bilateral music or nature sounds via headphones or earbuds.  Bilateral stimulation is simple sounds that alternate between the left and right ears and have been found to increase communication between the two sides of the brain as well as have a calming effect on the nervous system.
